أعلن نادي اتحاد جدة السعودي، مساء الجمعة، موافقته رسميًا على انتقال الظهير الألباني ماريو ميتاي إلى صفوف جنوى الإيطالي خلال فترة الانتقالات الصيفية الحالية، على سبيل الإعارة، مع تضمين الاتفاق بندًا يمنح النادي الإيطالي حق شراء اللاعب بشكل نهائي. ويأتي انتقال ميتاي، صاحب الـ22 عامًا، بعد سفره إلى إيطاليا لاستكمال إجراءات التعاقد مع جنوى، قبل أن يُعلن الاتحاد إتمام الصفقة بصورة رسمية. وكان اللاعب قد انضم إلى الاتحاد في صيف عام 2024 قادمًا من لوكوموتيف موسكو الروسي بنظام الإعارة، قبل أن تُفعّل إدارة "العميد" بند الشراء النهائي، وتمنحه عقدًا يمتد حتى صيف 2028، بعد تألقه مع الفريق. وخاض ميتاي بقميص الاتحاد 58 مباراة في مختلف المسابقات، سجل خلالها هدفين، وقدم 6 تمريرات حاسمة، ليختتم مشواره مع "النمور" قبل العودة إلى الملاعب الأوروبية عبر بوابة جنوى.
