Manchester United Manager Ten Hag has announced that Cristiano Ronaldo has reportedly pushed for a move away from Manchester United, but he appears set to stay at Old Trafford this season after he failed to obtain a suitable offer to leave the club during the current summer transfer market. Erik ten Hag has reiterated that Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo remains part of his plans at Manchester United as the transfer window draws to a close. When asked whether Ronaldo would remain with United ahead of their trip to Leicester City earlier on Thursday, manager Ten Hag replied: "It is clear. We need quality players and you need more to cover all the games to keep the consistency going. That's what we strive for. "We still need to strengthen the offensive department because we have many games to cover." About facing Leicester City, Erik ten Hag said: "I watched some matches and also knew from last season how great they are, so we must also be great."

UK press reports revealed that Cristiano Ronaldo is reportedly set to stay at Manchester United beyond the end of this summer's transfer window. According to Radio "Tak Sport", Manchester United coach Tin Hag will announce on Wednesday at the press conference against Leicester City that Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo will stay this season with the Reds. The 37-year-old is believed to have informed the Red Devils at the start of July of his desire to seek pastures new this summer in order to continue playing Champions League football. There has been a shortage of takers for the Portugal international, though, with the likes of Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain, Bayern Munich, AC Milan, and Inter Milan all believed to have rejected the chance to sign him. Spanish press reports revealed that Barcelona striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was attacked and robbed at his home by four people wearing masks, club officials have confirmed on Monday. The Spanish giants have said that he and his wife had been threatened with guns and iron bars but, despite the robbery, they are both doing well. According to Spanish journalist Gerard Romero on Twitter,  Barcelona striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang may have suffered a broken jaw after being attacked at home in an armed robbery and will be out for a period of 4 to 5 weeks. Spanish newspapers said both the player and his wife Alysha Behague suffered minor injuries. Aubameyang, 33, has not confirmed any details of the robbery. It is the second time in the last two months that Aubameyang’s home in Castelldefels, a suburb in the Metropolitan Area of Barcelona, has been burgled, although the player and his family were not at home during the first break-in, police said. According to media reports, four hooded men broke into his home on Monday and threatened the player and his family with firearms. They struck Aubameyang and his wife and forced them to open a safe in order to steal jewelry.

British media revealed that a statue of Manchester City star striker Erling Haaland has been stolen after it received complaints of being ‘too ugly’ in the Norwegian city of Bergen. The 10ft tall effigy was placed 50ft above a store in Bergen, Norway, which is Haaland’s hometown. However, it has now been removed from its place after fans complained that it looked absolutely nothing like the 22-year-old forward. According to The Sun, the thief, thought to be a disgruntled fan used a crane to take the statue away overnight.  The newspaper pointed out that the statue, which was erected in the hometown of Erling Halland in Bryne, Norway, from a tree trunk 3 meters long and weighing a ton, was stolen from a thief who did not like the statue and decided to get rid of it, after the recent period witnessed great criticism due to the lack of similarity between him and the Manchester City player. The sculpture was commissioned by businessman Tore Sivertsen for £10,000. However, even Sivertsen himself admitted that the statue was ugly. It was put into place two weeks ago and the plan was to auction it in order to raise money to fund a hospital in Tanzania. However, that plan is now at risk after the statue disappeared.  Sivertsen told The Sun: “We are all enormously proud of Erling. “I thought it would be good to commission a statue to pay tribute. “Some have complained it’s too ugly though, let’s face it, Erling is not a pretty guy. But I was still shocked that someone decided to steal it.”

Manchester United announced Tuesday on the brink of completing the signing of Brazilian international Antony from Ajax during the current summer transfer market. Sports reports indicated that Manchester United has completed the €100million signing of Brazilian international Antony from Ajax plus 5% of any future sale. United's statement said: "Manchester United has reached an agreement with Ajax for the transfer of Anthony, provided that the medical examination and players are to be completed and international clearance is obtained." Anthony scored 31 goals and 27 assists in 134 matches with Ajax and Sao Paulo, scored two goals, and assisted in nine matches for Brazil. Anthony won two Dutch league titles and a gold medal in the 2020 Summer Olympics.
