Failing to qualify for the World Cup: Wael Gomaa leaves Egypt national team

Egypt legend national team general manager Wael Gomaa has announced his departure from the national team staff following his country’s defeat to Senegal, following the 3-1 defeat by Senegal on penalties. The Pharaohs failed to book a spot in the 2022 World Cup in Qatar after losing to Senegal over two legs in the final round of the qualifiers.Just hours following the game, Egypt director Wael Gomaa released a statement announcing his departure from the national team backroom staff. “Today is the end of my journey with the Egyptian national team,” Gomaa wrote on his Twitter account.“I thank everyone who supported and encouraged us and I wish the national team all the best in the future. “I also thank members of the technical staff, led by a world-class coach [Carlos Querioz], who I think helped us greatly in a short period of time.I hope he remains with the national team for many years to come because we can benefit from his knowledge and experience,” he added.

Suleiman added: "In Al-Ahly, we do not look at any circumstances as long as we represent the team, and this is the goal of any player who will participate in the tournament."

Egypt court returns Mortada Mansour to the presidency of Zamalek SC

The Supreme Administrative Court on Sunday accepted a new appeal against the government decision to dissolve the Board of Directors of Zamalek SC, headed by former club president Mortada Mansour. Sunday’s ruling consequently returns Mansour and his board to the presidency of Zamalek SC.
