FIFA President: 2 million fans will attend the FIFA World Cup in Qatar

FIFA President Gianni Infantino promised football fans all over the world that FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 will be unique, likening the experience to that of a child going to Disneyland for the first time. FIFA President Infantino was addressing a press conference in Costa Rica, where he inaugurated a training field at the facilities of the Costa Rican Football Federation. He was in the Central American country for the U-20 Women’s World Cup finals between Spain and Japan. He pointed out that it is expected that "nearly two million fans from all over the world" will attend at the Universal Football Festival from November 20 to December 18. The FIFA president explained that all fans from all over the world are welcome to celebrate, to party, to watch the matches,” said Gianni Infantino. But if someone wants to come and create fights or whatever, of course they are not welcome and we are all going to be very strict, because the safety of everyone is the most important thing. We are going to have fans from all countries in the same city, not just from the two countries that are playing a game one day, but everybody will be there all the time. There are a lot of issues that need to be looked at in terms of security, accommodation, transport and every effort is being made to make it a party for everyone. For football fans, it will be a unique experience.” According to the FIFA President, nearly two million visitors from all over the world will travel to Qatar for the 2022 World Cup, almost equivalent to the entire population of the Gulf state (2.6 million).
On the security preparation for this global tournament, FIFA President stressed that the security presence is very strict in case anyone wants to disrupt security or tamper with that global event for which Doha has prepared well, and said: Security will be "very tight" as all fans will be in one city.
