Generation Amazing Foundation and CONCACAF mark the first anniversary of the football project

The Generation Amazing Foundation – one of the Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy’s (SC) FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™ legacy projects – and CONCACAF have marked the first anniversary of their joint football for a development project, which is set to benefit thousands of children and coaches across North and Central America and the Caribbean. Since being launched during last year’s CONCACAF Gold Cup in Houston, Texas, programs have been rolled out in ten CONCACAF countries to equip local coaches and volunteers with the tools and support to provide grassroots football training in their communities. After training, the coaches will lead six-week-long programs in schools, academies and clubs to benefit hundreds of girls and boys aged 8-12. Later in the year, each country will host a football festival to unite participants and share key learning. Following this, the Generation Amazing Festival will be held in Qatar from 16-21 November.

Qatar invites performers from across the globe to showcase their talents during FIFA World Cup2022

The Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy has announced that artists from all over the globe are invited to showcase their talents during the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™, which will be held from November 21 to December 18, with the aim of providing a cultural and artistic experience full of diversity and creativity, and enhancing the festive atmosphere during The upcoming football festival. The Supreme Committee explained that this invitation is announced in order to deliver an immersive cultural fan experience, Qatar is inviting artists from across the globe to showcase their talents during the FIFA World Cup™.The Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy (SC) is welcoming applications from all kinds of performers – including visual arts, crafts, and heritage, fashion and design, performance arts, theatre, music, and film – who are interested in performing at a variety of cultural activations across Qatar during the tournament. Successful applicants will become part of the host country's entertainment offering and help to deliver an exceptional fan experience. The project aims to support the SC’s ongoing efforts to make Qatar 2022 a platform for cultural exchange while providing a vibrant array of activities. Khaled Al Suwaidi, the SC’s Stakeholder Relations Director, said: “We are looking for talented artists who are excited to play a role in delivering the first FIFA World Cup in our country and region. Our goal is to thrill and excite fans from across the globe while celebrating our shared love of art and football. The performers can expect an incredible experience and the opportunity to share their talents with thousands of people from all over the world.”Al Suwaidi continued: “This project will add color and enthusiasm to our month-long festival of football. We are looking forward to welcoming the artists in Qatar. We are sure they will provide something for everyone to enjoy.”

Qatar applauds El Salvador for joining the initiative to plant one million trees

Qatar expressed applauds the Republic of El Salvador for joining Doha in the initiative to plant one million trees ahead of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022. In a symbolic ceremony held in El Salvador’s capital San Salvador, Secretary-General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs H E Dr. Ahmed bin Hassan Al Hammadi, received from Minister of Public Works of El Salvador H E Romeo Rodriguez Herrera, his country’s contribution to the initiative to provide 125,000 trees annually, from a total contribution of one million trees up to 2030. This initiative comes pursuant to the commitments in Paris Agreement dedicated to reducing greenhouse gas emissions

Qatar football team to kick-off summer camp in Spain from June 2nd

All players and technical staff led by Spain's Felix Sanchez will be assembling for the summer camp training sessions starting from (June 2nd, 2022), as part of preparations for the 2022 World Cup, which will be held from November 21 to December 18. Qatar's first national team is scheduled to participate in training camp sessions in Spain, which include several friendly matches with European teams. Qatar plays in the FIFA World Cup in Group A, which includes Ecuador, the Netherlands, and Senegal. Al-Annabi will start his World Cup matches against Ecuador on November 21 at  Al-Bayt Stadium, the retractable roof football stadium in the Al-Khor district. Félix Sánchez, the Spanish head coach of the Qatar national team is working on the final touches on the preparation program and the friendly matches. Recently, intensive contact took place with a number of federations and teams to secure a number of friendly matches, whether in foreign camps or in Doha. It is expected that the technical staff will reveal the new list of the Qatar national team in the coming days, before traveling to Spain. A number of Al-Annabi Olympic players will be absent from the list due to their preoccupation with the AFC U-23 Championship, which will start early next month in Uzbekistan.

Doha emerges as a potential candidate to host the final of the African Champions League 

It seems that the Qatari capital, Doha, has emerged as a potential candidate to host the final of the African Champions League, which will be held on 29 May 2022, instead of Senegal. Holders Al-Ahly of Egypt remains on course for an unprecedented third straight African Champions League title after a resounding 4-0 home win over 10-man Entente Setif of Algeria in Saturday's semi-final, first leg, while Wydad Casablanca of Morocco beat Petro de Luanda of Angola 3-1, and it is likely that the final will be an Arabian clash between Al-Ahly and Wydad.

Al-Sadd Management: Gracia's contract officially set to expire, criticizes striker Bounedjah!

In a statement to the official website after the end of Al-Sadd’s 2021-22 season, Turki Al-Ali, CEO of the club, said that the season did not culminate in the way the fans or the management wished for. He went on to say that: “We did not want our season to end in this way, and there is no convincing justification that we can offer to our fans. We acknowledge the wave of anger and every constructive criticism written against all of us is appreciated and respected, and our work and our self-evaluation will be based on that.” Turki Al-Ali added: “We, as the management, bear the most responsibility, as we did not prepare the team and players mentally for this tournament. Just as we admit our mistakes, we are also proud to belong to this institution, and we trust our capabilities and we will return better than before.” Turki reiterated that the reaction from the fans and their demands for correction in the upcoming period are natural and logical, as Al-Sadd fans are used to seeing their team compete for and win championships.

Exclusive to "Tembah": Belamri terminates his contract with Qatar SC, turns to the Saudi Youth Gate offer!

  Qatar Club announced the termination of the contract by mutual consent with the Algerian international, Qatar club defender Jamal Eddine Belamari on Sunday. The contract has been terminated a year or less when he joined Qatar Sports Club. Qatar SC published on its Twitter account several pictures of the Algerian defender during his farewell to his colleagues and wrote that he had terminated Belamari's contract, "after consultations between the player and the club. The club tweeted:” With this agreement, April 17, 2022 will be the last day for Belamari with Qatar SC."Qatar Sports Club added, "The club's Board thanks the player for the time he spent with the team, wishing him all the best in his sporting career."Belamari, 32-year old, moved to Qatar Club last July with a two-season contract from Olympique Lyonnais of France. Belamri played a prominent role in Algeria's crowning of the 2019 African Nations Cup, and had an experience with Saudi youth before moving to France and also played in the ranks of Nasr Hussein Dey, JS Kabylie and ES Setif in Algeria.is on his way back to the Saudi League after receiving a tempting offer from a club active in the Prince Mohammed bin Salman Cup League, recently, and it was reported that Belamri is following in the footsteps of his compatriot. Algerian international Youssef Belaili, who is heading to terminate his contract with Qatar Club in the coming weeks after granting him approval to the Saudi club, whose name has not been revealed. Qatar Stars League season wrapped up and Qatar SC finished ninth in the league standing.

Qatar Football Association (QFA) and Qatar Stars (QSL) signed a cooperation agreement with Castle Consulting Engineering. This agreement comes to implement the “The spirit of our moral code” initiative, which is an awareness campaign for the masses of fans , including Qataris and residents that seeks to spread and define our values, morals and good customs in Qatar by using sports as a key-fact for by focusing on a number of axes, the most important of which are: respect, public morals, and sportsmanship. Generally, the initiative aims in to prepare the overall atmosphere in the State of Qatar in preparation for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, and to welcome the fans coming to attend the tournament by highlighting our distinctive and hospitable Qatari identity.
