Spanish powerhouses Real Madrid and Barcelona are set to renew their explosive rivalry at El Clasico in Qatar

The Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) “La Liga” held a press conference at the InterContinental Doha Hotel to reveal the most important features of Spain's top-flight football league, La Liga returns for the 2022-23 season on the weekend of August 13, 2022. The conference was attended by Alvaro Baia, La Liga representative to Qatar along with Duncan Walkinshaw, Director of Programs at beIN the Middle East & North Africa (MENA).The Spain League Federation is seeking to organize many activities and events in Qatar with the desire expansion of its spread around the world and launching of its new sub-headquarters in many countries of the world, most recently Doha. The La Liga Foundation places Qatar as a priority to host the El Clasico rivalry of Real Madrid and Barcelona as part of a blockbuster deal among the Middle East and North Africa countries, in the event of an agreement in the future to hold any El Clasico encounter where Barcelona go head-to-head with Real Madrid extending way beyond Spain's borders. La Liga representative, Alvaro Baia, said during the press conference that "The idea has already been applied in other countries, such as the USA, and has achieved great success, and if it is proposed in the future, the State of Qatar will always have a priority in hosting the exciting long-awaited encounter with Real Madrid encounter between the poles of Spanish football the Arch-rivals Real Madrid and FC Barcelona."
