Silvio Berlusconi, the former president of Milan and the current Monza, said that he wants to win the Italian league title and qualify for the Champions League with Monza next season. Monza earns a promotion to Serie A for the next season, for the first time in its history, after beating its host, Pisa, 4-3, after the match was extended to overtime, in the second leg of the Calcio boarding supplement. Speaking to Sky Italy following Monza's victory, the former Italian premier revealed the extent of his ambition for the club, including the highest domestic and European honors. “We thought we would make it last year, but we were unlucky. This time, we fought for the entire season. It wasn’t easy, but we made it and we are in Serie A,” Berlusconi told Sky Sport Italia. “It’s amazing for a club like Monza, founded in 1912, to gain promotion after 110 years. It’s extraordinary for all the citizens of Monza and Brianza. It’s one of the most industrious provinces in Italy, with more than 70,000 entrepreneurs. All of them are very happy with what we have achieved.” Monza fans went wild, both at the Stadio Arena Garibaldi in Pisa and in the streets of Monza, where thousands of supporters watched the game on a big screen placed in one of the central squares of the city.

Saint-Etienne, who owns a record-tying 10 league titles,  were relegated from the Ligue 1 on Sunday after losing 5-4 on penalty kicks to AJ Auxerre in their promotion-relegation playoff, 5-4, after a 2-2 draw in the two legs of the supplement.The first leg ended 1-1, before they tied with the same result in the second leg Sunday, so the two teams resorted to penalty kicks, which Auxerre wins 5-4, and Etienne returned to the French League after an absence of 10 years. The defeat sparked a pitch invasion by angry Etienne fans, with many hurling flares at the main stand and towards the players' tunnel. Saint-Etienne finished the current season of the French League in 18th place, playing the two playoff matches against the third-placed Auxerre team in the French second division. Toulouse locked up the title this season as they finished ahead of Ajaccio by four points. Both teams will be heading to Ligue 1 next season

The European Football Association "UEFA" has revealed the ideal line-up for the last version of the European Champions League, a day after the competition ended on Saturday, as Real Madrid wins the Champions League final against Liverpool. Real Madrid collected their 14th title after beating Liverpool in the 2022 Champions League final to claim the biggest prize in European club football but lifting the trophy also brings substantial financial rewards and other spin-offs.  The perfect squad witnessed the presence of Liverpool's Egyptian star winger Mohamed Salah. Liverpool has shown a great interest in signing Monaco midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni, as Real Madrid, as their rivalry, is also interested in his services, where both the two will battle each other along with Paris Saint-Germain. According to the report, the European champions are currently leading the race to sign the 22-year-old, however, the Reds have also shown great interest and were lured by Tchouameni earlier as well, and they could step up their efforts to sign the midfielder, who are claiming around €80m from Monaco. Lay it off this summer. Reports over recent days have suggested that the 22-year-old France international has already agreed on personal terms with both the Reds and Los Blancos. Marca report suggesting after Real's failed move for Kylian Mbappe, they will go all out to secure the signature of Tchouameni, but transfer fees for the player by Monaco could be an issue for the Reds. Inter have not made their move to sign Paulo Dybala on a free transfer yet as they wait to see if a deal to re-sign Romelu Lukaku is viable, according to reports. Dybala will be a free agent when his Juve contract expires on June 30, with Inter and Roma among the sides linked with a move. The Nerazzurri are considered favorites for his signature, though no deal has been agreed upon as yet. Corriere Dello Sport report that is because Inter is waiting to see if bringing Lukaku back to San Siro this summer is viable. Belgium forward was Serie A MVP as Inter won Serie A in 2020-21 but left at the end of the season to join Chelsea, where he has struggled to impose himself.
