AC Milan is a possible candidate to face Barca in Gamper after Roma's withdrawal

 
Spanish press reports revealed on Tuesday that AC Milan has become the likely candidate to face Barcelona in the Joan Gamper trophy-friendly tournament to be held prior to the start of the 2022-2023 season  .The Italian club, AS Roma, apologized for playing against Barcelona in the Joan Gamper Cup, which was scheduled to be held on August 6, before the start of the new season 2022-2023.The Catalan newspaper "Sport" reported that after Roma unilaterally terminated the contract to be a competitor in Barcelona in Joan Gamper, efforts began intensively in Barca on the task of finding a competitor for this year's edition of the friendly tournament .The newspaper indicated that Milan AC clinched the Serie A title for the first time in 11 years on the final day of the league and has a good chance to be the team that visits Camp Nou on August 6 to face Barca in Joan Gamper.
AS Roma issued an official statement on Monday saying, "The club confirms its withdrawal from its participation in the Joan Gamper Cup, which was scheduled to be held in Barcelona on August 6, 2022."
