Guardiola warns FIFA and UEFA.. Why?
Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has expressed his concern about the difficult phase his team is going through at the start of the season, pointing to the many injuries and the absence of international players who are still on vacation after participating in summer tournaments. These statements came after two friendly defeats against Celtic Glasgow (4-3) and Milan (3-2). Guardiola confirmed that his team will face difficulties in relying on his international players during the upcoming matches, including facing Manchester United in the Community Shield on August 10, and the first two rounds in the English Premier League against Chelsea and Ipswich on August 18 and 24. Guardiola pointed to the role of FIFA and UEFA in the large number of matches, warning of the impact on the health of the players. He said: "If the officials and all the institutions, such as FIFA, UEFA and the English Premier League, do not think about the players, then we coaches must think about them, and if not, they will die, this is too much." He added that getting a three-week or a month's rest is necessary, but competition requires adapting to the current circumstances. "There will be no solution because there is no intention to find a solution. Clubs have to travel to show our brand around the world, to let other continents and other places see our players, and we have to adapt," he continued.
