FC Nantes won the French Cup for the first time in 22 years on Saturday, beating Nice 1-0 in the final at the Stade de France in Paris. Nantes secured their fourth Coupe de France crown and their first major trophy since 2001 as Antoine Kombouare’s side edged out OGC Nice 1-0 at the Stade de France in Paris to celebrate a long-awaited triumph to bring Nantes the club's first major trophy since winning the Ligue 1 title in 2001, while Nice won its last three titles in the 1996-1997 season.

Tottenham held Liverpool winning streak to a thrilling draw in the Premier League 

Tottenham held Liverpool to a 1-1 draw on Saturday at Anfield, in the 36th round of the English Premier League this season. Son Heung-min fired Spurs into the lead in the 56th minute following a lively but goalless first half before Diaz drew the Reds level with a strike from range which took a wicked deflection off Rodrigo Bentancur to leave Hugo Lloris stranded in the 74 minute.  Tottenham held Liverpool's victorious march in light of the fierce competition with Manchester City, now Liverpool on the top of the league standing with 83 points, equal to Manchester City, who will play against Newcastle on Monday. Tottenham remain fifth in the premier league standing with 62 points.

Barcelona survived a tricky game against Real Betis in the La Liga action

With a stunning goal deep into last-gasp time gave Barcelona a 2-1 victory at Real Betis in the 35th round of the Spanish League at Estadio Benito Villamarín, the stronghold of Real Betis.  Earlier, Barcelona had taken the lead with a first goal for Ansu Fati in the 76th minute, while  Jordi Alba scored in the 76th minute. But Barca were pegged back almost immediately when former Camp Nou defender Marc Bartra headed home a corner just three minutes later. The European Football Association (UEFA) is considering an amendment to the Champions League semi-final system, by holding it from one match on a neutral stadium, instead of the current back and forth format. The European Football Association (UEFA) is considering a major revamp to the Champions League semi-final system, which could involve cutting the group stage to 16 teams. The move is being driven by continental clubs’ concern that they are being left behind by huge revenues generated by the Premier League and the revised format could mean smaller teams having a reduced presence in the group phase. UEFA is planning to perform the Champions League from one match on a neutral stadium, instead of the current back and forth system. The Times, the British daily national newspaper based in London said that UEFA is seriously considering amending the Champions League semi-finals system, by holding it with a "Final Four" mini-championship system, in addition to the final match in one city within a week. The newspaper added that it was well received by a large number of European clubs, and it is expected to be implemented during the coming period.
