An initial death toll of 17 people during violent clashes between rival fans at Mexican soccer match 

Quertaro's confrontation with its guest, Atlas, in the Mexican league witnessed a humanitarian disaster, after the death of at least 17 fans, due to violent clashes between the two clubs' fans. The Mexican soccer game descended into mayhem as violent clashes broke out between fans of opposing sides, leaving at least 17 people dead.  The match, being held at a stadium in the city of Querétaro, northwest of Mexico City, was called off just after the second half had got underway following an hour of gameplay between Queretaro and Atlas, with the visitors holding a 1-0 lead. Fans of the hated rivals were caught on camera attacking one another, including throwing chairs and hurling metal trash cans. Authorities say at least 22 people were injured, two of them critically.

Benzema equals Messi's achievement to reach 100 assist in La Liga in the 21st century, 

Real Madrid's French star Karim Benzema has become the third player to reach 100 assist in La Liga in the 21st century, after Lionel Messi (192) and Daniel Alves (103). Real Madrid beat Real Sociedad with a score of 4-1 in the 27th week of the Spanish League continued at the Santiago Bernabeu. Benzema made his team's second goal against Real Sociedad yesterday, Saturday, by Luka Modric, in the match that the Royal won 4-1 in the twenty-seventh round.

Ronaldo and three Manchester United stars absent from squad on eve of derby

 Ahead of this weekend’s, Manchester United fans received a strong shock hours before the derby encounter against their neighbor Manchester City, scheduled tonight, Sunday, at Etihad stadium at the top of the matches of the 32 round of the English Premier League for 2021-2022.  The English newspaper, “Manchester Evening”, reported that there are huge question marks over Cristiano Ronaldo’s participation in Manchester United’s derby clash with rivals City on Sunday, with the Portuguese star absent from the squad that assembled on Saturday evening. The newspaper added that United's squad absences also include Uruguayan striker Edinson Cavani, French defender Raphael Varane and left back Luke Shaw.  The United squad list for the derby is as follows:

UEFA punishes Belarus national teams and clubs for the war in Ukraine

The European Football Association (UEFA) announced on Thursday that Belarusian national teams and clubs will play their European matches on neutral stadiums and without a public presence, against the background of the military attack launched by Russia against Ukraine. UEFA stop short of kicking Russia teams out of their competitions, as they order them and Ukrainian sides to play at neutral venues due to escalating conflict. UEFA issued an official statement, saying: "The European Union decides that all Belarusian clubs will play in neutral territories in its competitions until further notice, moreover, the matches will be played without spectators."

Russian Football Union prepare to file lawsuit against FIFA and UEFA

The Russian Football Union (RFU) are preparing to file a lawsuit to the Court of Arbitration for Sport against FIFA and UEFA,  due to the suspension of the participation of the Russian national team and clubs in competitions, against the background of the military attack on Ukraine. FIFA issued an official statement saying: “Following the preliminary decisions adopted by the FIFA Council and the UEFA Executive Committee, which provided for additional measures, FIFA and UEFA today jointly decided that all Russian teams, whether national teams or clubs, will be suspended from participating in the tournament. Both FIFA and UEFA tournaments until further notice

Real Madrid finalizes Mbappe’s deal , focuses on signing Halland

  Spanish reports revealed that Real Madrid has finalized a deal to sign French star Kylian Mbappe, the Paris Saint-Germain striker, whose contract with his current club expires next June. Josep Pedrerol, popular Spanish journalist that presents the program of 'Jugones' and 'The Chiringuito of Jugones' in The Sixth, affirmed that Mbappé will go to Real Madrid next June. The famous journalist Josep Pedrool said the deal to join Kylian for Real Madrid has already taken place. He added, "There is no chance that Mbappe will change his mind, he has already made his decision, and he will play for Real Madrid from next season." Pedrerol went on to say that Real Madrid's goal is for Mbappe and Halland to play together, and he is now focusing on the deal to include the Norwegian star.

The Premier League announces plans to show support to Ukraine, takes further decisions

 The English Premier League has announced full solidarity with the Ukrainian people against the Russian invasion, amid the war between the two countries since last Thursday. The Premier League has announced a show of support for the people of Ukraine at all matches this weekend. The Premier League's official website issued a statement condemning Russia's war on Ukraine, saying: "The Premier League and our clubs wholeheartedly reject Russia's actions and will show their support for the people of Ukraine in all matches this weekend." “The Premier League and our clubs wholeheartedly reject Russia’s actions and will be showing support for the people of Ukraine at all matches this weekend,” the league announced in a statement.

Officially: Abramovich decides to sell Chelsea FC

Russian billionaire businessman Roman Abramovich has decided to sell Chelsea as revealed by his official statement shared by the Chelsea Twitter handle on Wednesday. “I would like to address the speculation in media over the past few days in relation to my ownership of Chelsea FC. This came in a welfare message to the Blues fans amid the backdrop of the war between Russia and Ukraine. In his farewell message, Abramovich said: "It pains me to leave the club in this way, however, I believe it is in the best interests of the club. I hope to be able to visit Stamford Bridge one last time to say goodbye to all of you."
