Spain renews De la Fuente's contract until 2032

The Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) has officially renewed the contract of national team coach Luis de la Fuente until 2032, following ratification by the board. The new contract extends until the end of the 2032 European Championship, co-hosted by Turkey and Italy, making it the longest contract for a coach in the history of the Spanish national team. During his new contract, de la Fuente will lead Spain through three major tournaments: Euro 2028, the 2030 World Cup, and Euro 2032, in addition to three editions of the UEFA Nations League in 2027, 2029, and 2031. The contract extension comes in recognition of the coach's achievements with the Spanish national team, having guided them to victory in the UEFA Nations League, the European Championship, and the World Cup. De la Fuente has managed Spain in 50 matches, securing 38 wins, 10 draws, and only two defeats – one against Scotland in an official match and the other against Colombia in a friendly. This record contributed to the Spanish national team achieving the longest unbeaten run in its history, with 38 matches in all competitions and 39 matches in official matches.
