Germany is moving to host the 2038 or 2042 World Cup

Conversely, the DFB has expressed reservations about the significant increase in ticket prices for the 2026 World Cup, arguing that this trend could deter fans and negatively impact the game's popularity, particularly among younger generations who rely on the experience of attending matches in person. Officials emphasized the importance of maintaining football as a sport accessible to all, calling for more balanced pricing policies that ensure attendance from diverse fan bases and prevent major tournaments from becoming events limited to the financially privileged.
