Spain dominates World Cup awards

The Spanish national team dominated the individual awards at the 2026 World Cup after winning the title for the second time in its history, defeating Argentina 1-0 in the final. This victory secured them both the team title and the most prestigious individual awards . Rodri, the Spanish midfield star, won the Golden Ball award for best player of the tournament after delivering exceptional performances throughout. He led "La Roja" to victory, confirming his return to the form that previously earned him the Ballon d'Or during his time with Manchester City . Pau Cobarsi, the Barcelona defender, won the Best Young Player award after his outstanding performances in defense. He formed a strong defensive partnership with Aymeric Laporte and contributed significantly to the solidity of the Spanish defense throughout their journey to the title . Spain's dominance of the individual awards was completed with Athletic Bilbao goalkeeper Unai Simón winning the Golden Glove as the tournament's best goalkeeper, having kept six clean sheets – the most of any goalkeeper participating in the 2026 World Cup . With this achievement, the Spanish national team not only won the World Cup title but also secured the most prestigious individual awards, clearly demonstrating the superiority and brilliance of its players throughout the tournament.
