Belgium provokes America with a provocative post

The Belgian national team sparked controversy after their resounding victory over the United States, when their official social media account posted a sarcastic message following their qualification for the quarterfinals of the 2026 World Cup with a 4-1 win. The account shared a picture of striker Romelu Lukaku celebrating his fourth goal, accompanied by the brief caption: "Cancel it," a sarcastic reference to the decision that allowed US striker Folarin Balogun to play in the match. Balogun had been sent off in the game against Bosnia and Herzegovina, but FIFA  suspended his ban, imposing a one-year suspended sentence that would only be activated if he committed another offense. This allowed him to play against Belgium. With this victory, Belgium advanced to the quarterfinals, where they will face Spain in one of the most anticipated matches of the 2026 World Cup.
