Germany's jersey dominates World Cup sales
Adidas CEO Björn Gulden confirmed that the company is achieving record sales during the 2026 World Cup, noting that demand for the German national team's jerseys has seen a significant surge, potentially tripling compared to previous editions. Gulden explained that sales of the German jerseys are projected to exceed 3 million, making it one of the company's best-selling releases in the football market, given the overwhelming public interest in the current tournament. He added that the German national team's white home jersey continues to be the most popular, while the dark blue away jersey has surpassed the pink version released during the last European Championship in terms of both sales and public demand. He pointed out that the Mexican national team's jerseys, for which Adidas manufactures the tournament kits, are the best-selling in the current World Cup, followed by Argentina's, with Germany in third place, reflecting the diversity of the market and the high demand for popular national teams. He also revealed that a technical issue concerning the printing of some German players' jerseys has been resolved, confirming that all organizational details have been settled without affecting production and distribution operations. This comes at a time when Adidas' long-standing partnership with the German Football Association is nearing its end, with the future contract moving to Nike, adding a new competitive dimension between the two brands in the global sportswear market.
