A fierce battle for a spot in the 2030 World Cup final

The British newspaper The Times revealed the fierce competition between Morocco and Spain to host the 2030 World Cup final, as both countries, along with Portugal, submit a joint bid to organize the tournament. The Moroccan Football Federation is adamant about holding the final at the Hassan II Stadium in Casablanca, which is still under construction and will have a capacity of approximately 115,000 spectators, making it the largest stadium in the world. This gives Morocco a significant advantage in its bid. In contrast, the Spanish Football Federation prefers to host the final at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium in Madrid, citing its rich history and international prestige, as well as the advanced infrastructure of the Spanish capital. According to sources within FIFA, the competition between the two bids is extremely close, with the final decision still pending due to the close standing of both. The Moroccan bid hinges on the idea of hosting a historic final in Africa at a stadium that will be the largest in the world, while Spain's bid relies on its extensive experience in hosting major events and the prestige of its renowned stadium. Despite the initial agreement to distribute the tournament matches among the three countries, the identity of the host country for the final match remains the most prominent point of contention, pending the final decision from FIFA.
