The “sole beneficiaries” of Russia's exclusion: Poland reached the play-off final ,Leipzig qualified for the Euroleague

The decision of the International Football Associations "FIFA" and the European Football Association "UEFA", to suspend the membership of Russia's teams and clubs from participating in all the tournaments of the two organizations, resulted in Poland's qualification for the final of the 2022 World Cup supplement, as well as the rise of Leipzig in the European League. The European Football Association decided to exclude Spartak Moscow from the European League in 2021-2022, so that its German rival Leipzig qualified for the quarter-finals of the tournament.
Russia was set to compete for one of Europe’s final spots in the tournament in just a few weeks. The decision follows FIFA’s initial proposal of sanctions against Russia, such as preventing it from holding international matches and temporarily banning the country’s name, flag, and national anthem from competitions. Poland, Sweden, and the Czech Republic had pushed for the ban in regards to the World Cup playoff, while France, England, and the U.S. agreed they would not compete against Russia either.
According to the decision taken by FIFA and EUEFA, it was confirmed that the Polish national team had reached the final match of the European play-off qualifiers for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, where it was supposed to face Russia before being excluded, in the semi-finals. FIFA announced on Monday, the exclusion of the Russian national team from participating in the finals of the next edition of the 2022 World Cup hosted by Qatar, due to the recent war launched by Russian forces against Ukraine.
The consequences of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine have crossed over even more into global football’s top levels. FIFA and UEFA on Monday banned all Russian teams from their competitions until further notice. That means that Russia will not play its World Cup qualifying playoff against Poland next month and that Spartak Moscow will not face RB Leipzig in the Europa League next week.
