Argentina chooses Kansas City for 2026 World Cup training camp
The reigning World Cup champions, Argentina, have chosen Kansas City, USA, as their base camp for the 2026 World Cup, which will be held from June 11 to July 19. The Argentine Football Association announced the decision, stating that Kansas City will host two of the team's three group stage matches. "La Albiceleste" will begin their campaign against Algeria on June 16, followed by a match against Jordan on June 27 in the same city. Their second match will be against Austria on June 22 in Dallas, Texas, approximately 800 kilometers from Kansas City. Under the guidance of coach Lionel Scaloni, the team aims to defend their title and compete for their fourth World Cup victory, having previously won in 1978, 1986, and 2022, in the tournament co-hosted by the United States, Mexico, and Canada. The Argentine Football Association has not yet released further details regarding accommodation or training facilities during the camp.
