The Round of 16 lineup for the FIFA U-17 World Cup Qatar 2025, being held at the Aspire Zone Sports Complex and continuing until November 27, is now complete following the conclusion of the Round of 32. The Round of 16 features seven European teams, four African teams, three Asian teams, one South American team, and one CONCACAF team. Five matches went to penalties to determine the winners after ending in a draw. Brazil, Morocco, Uzbekistan, Mexico, and Ireland advanced via penalty shootouts. The tournament saw the early exit of defending champions Germany, as well as Argentina and Belgium. Morocco remains the sole representative of Arab football, following the elimination of Egypt and Tunisia in the Round of 32, and Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE in the group stage. The 16 Round of 32 matches saw a total of 37 goals scored, averaging 2.3 goals per game. Four-time champions Brazil are the only team to have reached the Round of 16 without scoring a goal in the Round of 32, having drawn 0-0 with Paraguay before securing their place in the knockout stage with a 5-4 penalty shootout victory. Overall, 88 matches have been played so far (72 in the group stage and 16 in the Round of 32), resulting in 69 wins and 19 draws, with a total of 287 goals scored. There have been 33 penalties awarded (21 converted and 12 missed), 269 yellow cards shown, and 23 red cards issued. Following the conclusion of the Round of 16, the qualified teams will have a two-day break on November 19th and 20th before the quarterfinals begin on November 21st. The tournament will then take another two-day break on November 22nd and 23rd before resuming with the semifinals. Two more rest days will follow on November 25th and 26th, culminating in the final and the third-place match on November 27th. This edition of the FIFA U-17 World Cup features 48 teams for the first time in the tournament's history, and it is the first of five consecutive editions to be hosted by Qatar until 2029.
