Saudi Crown Prince meets FIFA President

His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, received FIFA President Gianni Infantino in Riyadh, who is currently visiting the Kingdom as part of a tour of several countries. The meeting addressed existing cooperation between Saudi Arabia and FIFA, and ways to enhance it to serve the global growth of the sport. They also discussed the promising opportunities the Kingdom offers to strengthen its sports infrastructure and host major tournaments. This meeting comes amidst the Kingdom's growing role on the international sports stage, particularly its preparations to host the 2034 FIFA World Cup, following the strong support the bid has received from various continents. During the meeting, both sides emphasized the importance of continued cooperation between Saudi Arabia and FIFA to achieve shared goals for the development of football worldwide, especially in areas such as talent development, women's empowerment, and modern technologies in game management. This meeting reflects the Kingdom's Vision 2030, which places increasing importance on sports in general and football in particular, recognizing them as tools for promoting cultural exchange, stimulating the economy, and encouraging healthy lifestyles. It also underscores Saudi Arabia's position as a global sports hub and a leading destination for hosting major sporting events. Relations between FIFA and the Kingdom have witnessed significant development in recent years, with Saudi Arabia hosting numerous international events and tournaments, such as the Spanish and Italian Super Cups and the upcoming FIFA Club World Cup, in addition to its successful organization of several continental and regional championships that have garnered widespread praise from FIFA.
