Ronaldo is the all-time top scorer in World Cup qualifiers

Cristiano Ronaldo, captain of the Portuguese national team and player of Saudi club Al-Nassr, continued to write a new chapter in his legendary career, after becoming the all-time leading scorer in World Cup qualifiers with 41 goals. Ronaldo scored a brace against Hungary during the fourth round of European qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup, leading his country closer to direct qualification from Group F, which also includes Armenia and the Republic of Ireland. Despite being over 40, the Portuguese star confirmed that he is still the toughest record in world football, surpassing Carlos Ruiz of Guatemala, who has 39 goals, and Argentina's Lionel Messi, who has 36 goals. This brings Ronaldo's total goals in his professional career to 948, including 143 goals for the Portuguese national team since his debut in 2003, keeping him close to the 1,000-goal mark. This achievement adds a new chapter to Ronaldo's list of records, proving once again that he has not stopped breaking boundaries and rewriting football history.
