Find out who qualified for the 2029 Club World Cup

The curtain fell on Sunday evening on the first edition of the Club World Cup under the new format, hosted by the United States from June 15 to July 13, with an unprecedented 32 teams from across various continents. This marked a historic shift for the competition, which has been followed with limited participation since its inception at the turn of the millennium. The 63-match tournament captivated the world and concluded with an exciting final, with Chelsea defeating Paris Saint-Germain 3-0 at MetLife Stadium in New York. Although the Parisian team entered the match as heavy favorites, Chelsea put on a superb performance, culminating in their first title in the expanded version of the tournament. Chelsea's brilliance wasn't limited to their collective performance, as their Spanish goalkeeper Robert Sanchez won the Best Goalkeeper award, while promising star Cole Palmer won the Player of the Tournament award after confidently leading his team to the title. With the conclusion of the historic edition, talk has begun to turn to the 2029 Club World Cup, which will also be held under the same format, with the participation of 32 teams. Amid anticipation for the announcement of the host country and host club, several nominations are under consideration by the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA). Although the identity of the host country has not yet been decided, four clubs have already secured their participation in the 2029 edition as champions of their continents in the 2024-2025 season. These clubs are:
Al-Ahli Jeddah of Saudi Arabia (AFC Champions League champion),
Paris Saint-Germain of France (UEFA Champions
League champion), Pyramids FC of Egypt
(CAF Champions League champion), and Cruz Azul of Mexico (CONCACAF Champions League champion) .
Places in the 2029 edition will be distributed in the same manner as in the 2025 edition:
12 clubs from Europe, 6 from South America, 4 from Asia, 4 from Africa, 4 from North America (CONCACAF), 1 club from Oceania, and the host country's representative.
It's worth noting that Chelsea, despite winning the last edition, will not automatically participate in the next tournament, as they must secure their place through their continental results in the coming years (2026, 2027, and 2028).
FIFA is expected to reveal the host country and local host of the 2029 Club World Cup in the coming period, given the high expectations following the great success of the American edition.
