500 days until the start of the 2026 World Cup

Only 500 days separate the start of the 2026 World Cup, which will be held in three countries for the first time in the history of the tournament: the United States, Canada and Mexico. On June 11, 2026, the largest sporting event will begin, bringing together 48 teams for the first time in the history of the World Cup. During 2025, FIFA will unveil the host city posters, start selling tickets and hospitality packages, in addition to conducting the tournament draw. FIFA has also contracted the world’s leading aerial photography experts to document the host cities and distinctive cultural and natural landmarks, including Atlanta, Boston, Dallas, Los Angeles, Mexico City, Miami, New York, Seattle, Toronto, and others. More than 5 million fans are expected to attend the 104 matches of the tournament, while more than 6 billion people around the world will follow, in a unique sporting event that combines sports competition with learning about the cultures and landmarks of the host countries.
