Neymar: Organizing the 2034 World Cup will be historic
Brazilian Neymar da Silva, the star of the Saudi Al-Hilal Club, described witnessing the initial preparations for the Saudi project to organize the 2034 World Cup as one of the most important events in his life, stressing his great happiness to be in the Kingdom since moving to it last year, after ending his career with Paris Saint-Germain. Neymar's statements came in a video, days after speculation spread about the possibility of his departure due to a new injury he sustained during a match in the AFC Champions League for the elite against Esteghlal Tehran. Neymar said: "I think this project is one of the best projects I have seen in my life, in fact the best ever, and it could become the best World Cup in history." Neymar added: "My family and I are very happy to be here, and I am confident that more stars will come to the Saudi League. There will be many opportunities for players to come to Saudi Arabia." He continued, saying: "I think everyone should have the opportunity to experience what I am experiencing with Al-Hilal." On the other hand, Al Hilal Club announced that Neymar had suffered a hamstring tear that will keep him off the field for 4 to 6 weeks, which means he will miss the upcoming matches against Al Sadd and Al Gharafa of Qatar on November 26 and December 3. Despite the doctors confirming the player's ability to return to the field in October 2024 after recovering from the cruciate ligament injury, the team's technical director, Jorge Jesus, decided to exclude him from Al Hilal's list in the Saudi Roshen League, and was satisfied with including his name in the AFC Champions League list for the elite only.
