How Much Compensation Will Real Madrid Receive From FIFA?
The Spanish club Real Madrid is preparing to obtain compensation from the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA), after two of its players suffered injuries in the last week of FIFA, namely Edouard Camavinga, the French national team midfielder, and Vinicius Junior, the Brazilian national team winger. FIFA regulations stipulate that for each day of absence, FIFA pays the club to which the injured player belongs to his national team 20,548 euros per day when the period of absence exceeds 28 days (4 weeks). In the biceps femoris muscle with an injury to the distal tendon in his left leg, the duo needs about eight weeks, or six at the least, and therefore the Royal team will receive compensation from FIFA. The Spanish newspaper “Sport” reported that FIFA will have to financially compensate Real Madrid in an amount of 863 thousand euros each, and by adding the two amounts, they represent 1,433,000 euros that the White Club will receive. The White Club will pay the players more than 4.1 million euros for two and a half months’ salary and will receive 1.4 from FIFA in compensation, so the Royal Club will bear 2.7 million euros.
