Dates and Venues for FIFA Arab Cup 2021™️ Qualifiers Matches

19 June (8 PM kick-off) – Libya v Sudan – Khalifa International Stadium

The first tournament-ready venue for Qatar 2022, Khalifa International will host the opening match of the qualifiers between the Arab-African rivals Libya and Sudan on 19 June. The winner this fourth group will qualify for the next stage, which includes the teams of Egypt and Algeria, and the winner of the Lebanon-Djibouti match.

Soqour Al-Jedyan or,Sudan national football team has a distinguished football history, as Sudan is one of the founding teams of the African Nations Cup. Sudan has been the first country to have the honor of hosting the championship in 1957, before organizing it for the second time in 1970 and crowned the title at home and among its fans.

 

20 June (8 PM kick-off) – Oman v Somalia – Jassim Bin Hamad Stadium
The Omani and Somali teams encounter in this play-off match to qualify for the next stage to join group one, which includes Qatar and Iraq, and the winner of Bahrain-Kuwait match.

The Omani national team returns to compete in Qatar again, days after the end of their campaign in Group E in the Asian qualifiers for the World Cup Qatar 2022, where remaining matches were held in Doha this month. Omani team ranked second after Qatar, to keep Oman hopes of qualifying for Qatar World Cup 2022 after their success in reaching the final round of the qualifiers.

The "Omani Red" Shirts has witnessed a revival in recent years, after Oman's unprecedented success in lifting the Gulf Cup title-winners twice in 2009 and 2017. Oman qualified for the Asian Nations Cup 4 times in the last five editions, and achieved a remarkable achievement in the previous edition, which was held in 2019, by reaching the round of 16.

While the Somali national team sees this encounter as a valuable opportunity to rise up to the FIFA Arab Cup 2021 and prove itself in Doha, the major football forum, as dreams are high of to qualify for  FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™️, especially after being defeated against Zimbabwe in September 2019 in the African qualifiers for the World Cup. “The Ocean Stars” team has a record of participating in several regional competitions, including the Central and Eastern African Football Championship, known as the Cecafa Cup, and the Arab Games in 1985.

21 June (8 PM kick-off) – Jordan v South Sudan – Khalifa International Stadium

The two national teams of Jordan and South Sudan will play-off their match, in which the winner qualifies for the third group, which includes: Morocco and Saudi Arabia, along with the winner of the match between Palestine and Comoros.

"Al-Nashma" national team faces South Sudanese counterpart after a series of matches Jordan team played during the month of June in the second group of qualifiers for FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022. Jordan remaining matches were hosted by the State of Kuwait, which marked the end of the Jordanian team's march in the competition to qualify for FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.

Despite losing the opportunity to qualify for the next edition of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, the Jordanian national team has made distinctive marks at the continental level, especially in the last two decades. Al-Nashma team reached twice the last eight in the Asian Nations Cup in 2004 and 2011. They also finished runner-up three times in the West Asian Football Federation Championship in 2002, 2008 and 2014, and was crowned with the title of the Arab Games in 1997 and 1999.
As for the South Sudan team, they scored first international appearance in international football in 2012, just one year after announcing its separation from Sudan. The best achievement of the "Bright Stars" team was reaching the final semi-final of "CICAFA" Cup in 2015. It had previously participated in two editions of the FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

22 June (8 PM kick-off) – Mauritania v Yemen – Jassim Bin Hamad Stadium


The winner of this deceive match between Mauritania and Yemen national teams to join the second group, which includes Tunisia, the United Arab Emirates and Syria.

On the other hand, Yemen's hopes of qualifying for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 evaporated after it finished last in group D of Asian qualifiers for the World Cup.  They have tough remaining matches which were held in Saudi Arabia. Yemen hopes that luck will smile and compensate for their loss in the World Cup qualifiers by qualifying for the Arab Cup at the expense of their Mauritanian counterpart. Yemen team made its first appearance in the Asian Nations Cup during the last edition that was held in 2019. It has also participated nine times in the Gulf Cup, once in the Olympic Games in 1985, and three times in the West Asian Football Federation Championship and reached half Final in its 2010 edition.

 
23 June (8 PM kick-off) – Lebanon v Djibouti – Khalifa International Stadium 


The winner of this crucial encounter qualifies for Group D, which includes Algeria and Egypt, along with the winner of Libya-Sudan match.
The Lebanese team concludes its series of matches that it played in June in the eighth Group of the Asian qualifiers for the World Cup, and the remaining matches were hosted by South Korea, during which Lebanon succeeded in reaching the final round of the qualifying competitions for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.

The "Rice" team will encounter Djibouti with an open appetite that recalls their historical success in qualifying for the second time in 2019 for the Asian Nations Cup, in which it had only participated once, when it hosted it in 2000. Among the most prominent achievements of the Lebanese team came third place in The Arab Games in 1957 and 1997 in Beirut. They also participated in seven editions of the West Asian Football Federation Championship between 2000 and 2019.

As for Djibouti national team, they hope to be qualified for the FIFA Arab Cup 2021 which the team eyes to be a step that increases its enthusiasm to achieve the dream of ascending to the World Cup Qatar 2022. Djibouti succeeded in qualifying for the group stage in the African qualifiers for the World Cup at the expense of Swaziland, to join the group of Algeria, Burkina Faso and Niger.
The return of the Djibouti national team to Qatar in December to participate in the Arab Cup, in compensation as they early exit in October 2019 from the qualifiers for the next edition of the African Nations Cup. Djibouti national team participated in 12 times CECAFA Cup competitions between 1994 and 2019.


24 June (8 PM kick-off) – Palestine v Comoros – Jassim Bin Hamad Stadium

Palestinian and Comorian teams enter this match with their broad ambitions, hoping to reach winners of group C, which includes Morocco and Saudi Arabia, along with the winner of Jordan and South Sudan.
The Palestinian national team seeks to qualify for the FIFA Arab Cup 2021™️ qualifiers, after hopes were all but dashed after its march-on in the group E of Asian qualifiers for the World Cup, whose remaining matches were held in Saudi Arabia.
“The Canaan Lions” play the match empowered with spirit of Asian Nations Cup2015, in which they scored their first appearance after winning the 2014 AFC Challenge Cup, before repeating it again and qualifying for the 2019 edition that was held in the United Arab Emirates.
Palestinian national team had previously participated 9 times in the West Asian Football Federation Championship and won the bronze medal in the Arab Games in 1999.
On the other hand, Comoros, located in the Indian Ocean near the east coast of Africa, is seeking to announce itself in another major tournament, having early booked a seat in the upcoming African Nations Cup in Cameroon after qualifying from the group that included Egypt, Kenya and Togo.

The "Gambeza" team failed to reach the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.
