Inzaghi decides: Al-Hilal or Juventus?
Federico Pastorello, the agent of Italian Simone Inzaghi, the coach of Saudi Arabia’s Al-Hilal, has put an end to the controversy surrounding the possibility of his client leaving the club, amid reports linking him to a return to the Italian league via Juventus. Italian press reports in recent days have indicated that Juventus officials are interested in signing Inzaghi to take over the technical leadership of the team, succeeding coach Luciano Spalletti, who is facing pressure due to declining results. In exclusive statements to the Saudi newspaper “Al-Riyadh”, Pastorello confirmed that Inzaghi is not thinking of leaving Al-Hilal during the current period, indicating that the Italian coach is focused on continuing his journey with the team and competing for championships, especially after the leader’s failure to win a number of titles during the last season. Inzaghi took over coaching Al-Hilal at the beginning of last season, and succeeded in leading the team to win the King's Cup title, after defeating Al-Kholoud 2-1 in the final match held at Al-Inma Stadium. But Al-Hilal was unable to win more championships, after losing the Saudi League title to its rival Al-Nasr, and also failed to win the AFC Champions League, which went to Al-Ahli for the second consecutive season. Despite those failures, Al-Hilal is experiencing a remarkable period in terms of results this season, having established itself at the top of the Saudi Roshan League, benefiting from its positive results at both the local and continental levels. The leader tops the Saudi League standings with 27 points, two points ahead of Al-Nasr and Al-Qadisiyah, as the competition reaches the eleventh round.
