Roma are chasing Barcelona star in January

Barcelona's left-back, Spaniard Alejandro Balde, has entered the radar of Italian club Roma, who are planning to strengthen their ranks during the upcoming winter transfer window, given the player's declining participation with the Catalan team this season. According to the Italian newspaper “Il Messaggero”, Roma’s management is seriously considering the possibility of signing Balde next January, as part of its plan to strengthen the team’s ranks, as it sees the Barcelona defender as one of the options available to bolster its squad. The Italian club's interest comes at a time when Balde is facing a different situation at Barcelona, after his participation under German coach Hansi Flick declined compared to previous seasons, which raised questions about his future with the team. Despite Flick's keenness to give most of his players regular opportunities to participate, Balde has not yet received the space he previously enjoyed, which may prompt him to reassess his situation during the winter transfer window if he continues to be excluded from the starting lineup. Balde's limited appearances reflect the extent of his decline in his role with Barcelona, as he played only 12 minutes during the team's match against Racing in the Spanish League, and also participated for 16 minutes in the match against Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League.
