Barcelona threatens Real Madrid's record in El Clásico

Barcelona are close to breaking a La Liga record, having equaled the best start in the competition's history with nine consecutive wins. The upcoming El Clásico against Real Madrid presents an opportunity to set a new record . Hansi Flick's team secured a resounding 5-2 victory over Real Betis in La Liga, bringing their total wins to nine in the first nine rounds, matching Real Madrid's achievement from the 1968-69 season . The Camp Nou will host the El Clásico between Barcelona and Real Madrid on October 25th, where the Catalan side will be aiming for their tenth consecutive victory and the best start in La Liga history . Barcelona boast a superior attacking record compared to Real Madrid, having scored 39 goals in their first nine matches, while Real Madrid managed 21 goals in the same season . Flick has also surpassed the starts of his predecessors, as Tata Martino's team achieved eight consecutive victories in the 2013-2014 season, while Ernesto Valverde's team only managed seven wins in the 2017-2018 season . Thirteen different players have scored Barcelona's goals this season, with the team netting 39 goals in La Liga and nine goals in two Champions League matches, bringing their total to 48 goals in 11 games.
