Barcelona equals Real Madrid's historic record

Barcelona equaled Real Madrid's historic record of nine consecutive wins at the start of the La Liga season after defeating Real Betis 5-2 on Saturday evening . Hansi Flick's team continued their perfect start to the league campaign, winning all nine of their opening matches and matching the record set by Real Madrid in the 1968-69 season . This surpasses Barcelona's previous achievement under Tata Martino, when they secured eight consecutive victories at the beginning of the 2013-14 season. The current squad has now reached nine wins, equaling the record held by Real Madrid . This achievement places Barcelona alongside their arch-rivals Real Madrid in the La Liga record books, as the Catalan club replicated the winning streak achieved by their rivals decades ago . The victory over Real Betis further strengthens Barcelona's strong start to the season, as they aim to maintain their positive momentum and preserve their perfect record in the early rounds of the competition.
