Vinicius will miss El Clasico

Real Madrid suffered a major blow ahead of their clash with arch-rivals Barcelona in La Liga, as Brazilian winger Vinicius Junior was confirmed to miss the upcoming El Clásico due to his red card against Villarreal. Vinicius was shown a straight red card during Real Madrid's match against Villarreal after pulling Nathan Saliba's hair in midfield, an act deemed violent by the referee. The match also saw a goal by the Brazilian star disallowed after the referee consulted VAR to review the play from the beginning before making his decision. According to La Liga regulations, Vinicius faces a two-match suspension for violent conduct, meaning he will miss Real Madrid's next two matches against Sevilla and Barcelona. Real Madrid are scheduled to play Sevilla on October 18th in the ninth round of La Liga, before facing Barcelona on October 25th in the highly anticipated El Clásico in the tenth round. The absence of Vinicius Junior represents a significant blow to the Royal team, given the importance of the Brazilian player and his attacking role, especially since the match against Barcelona is one of the most prominent matches of the season, during which Real Madrid seeks to achieve victory and continue competing for the La Liga title.
