De Bruyne achieves a record unseen since 2024

Napoli secured a well-deserved 3-0 victory over visiting Frosinone in the sixth round of Serie A, in a match that saw Belgian star Kevin De Bruyne shine, scoring two goals and leading his team to all three points. According to Opta statistics, De Bruyne scored his first brace for Napoli in Serie A, bringing his career total to 12 braces across Europe's top five leagues. In the 27th minute, Napoli were awarded a penalty. Rasmus Hoollund stepped up to take it, but the Frosinone goalkeeper saved his initial shot. However, a Frosinone player encroached into the penalty area before the kick was taken, prompting the referee to order a retake. In the 29th minute, De Bruyne stepped up to take the retaken penalty and calmly slotted the ball into the net, giving Napoli a 1-0 lead. The Belgian star continued his brilliance in the second half, scoring his second goal in the 49th minute, capitalizing on his position near the goal to extend his team's lead and contribute to a 3-0 victory. This brace holds special significance for De Bruyne, as it was his first in Serie A and his 12th brace in Europe's top five leagues. His last brace in these leagues came on April 6, 2024, when he scored twice for Manchester City against Crystal Palace in the Premier League.
