Tuchel equals Heynckes' historic achievement Champions League record, surpasses Zidane
German Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel led his team Chelsea, to qualify for the quarter-finals of the European Champions League, at the expense of French Lille, after repeating his victory in the round of 16 with a score of 2-1 on Wednesday, after he finished the first leg in London with a 2-0. Tuchel has equaled the record for most Champions League victories inside 50 matches as the Blues rolled victory over Lille.
The "Opta" network, which specializes in monitoring statistics, stated that Tuchel managed to reach the 32nd victory during his 50th match in the Champions League, equaling the record for the most technical manager to win in the first 50 matches recorded by Jupp Heynckes, who achieved them in 47 matches.
It was Tuchel's 32nd triumph in the Champions League - the same as former Bayern Munich coach Jupp Heynckes, who only managed 47 games in the format before retirement.
Zinedine Zidane, meanwhile, won 31 matches in his first 50 games. The German manager led Chelsea last season to the European Champions League title for the second time in its history, after winning the final match against Manchester City 1-0.
