He indicated that he was surprised to discover financial obligations and documents he was unaware of. He added, "I had a serious problem with my former agent, and I also faced a very serious family problem." One Thursday, I went to sleep at midnight, and on Friday, I received a stack of documents I hadn't even known existed.” The 53-year-old indicated that this period made him feel like he had lost control over a significant portion of his assets and finances, explaining that he encountered individuals who had drained his accounts, without revealing further details about their identities or the nature of his dealings with them. Carlos stated, “I had problems with people draining my account,” emphasizing that the experience prompted him to reorganize his financial and family affairs and learn from the mistakes he made throughout his career. Roberto Carlos boasts an illustrious football career, having played 125 international matches for the Brazilian national team, winning the 2002 World Cup with them. He also secured three Champions League titles with Real Madrid, in addition to numerous domestic and continental championships.
