Mohamed Salah banned from driving for 6 months

Former Liverpool star Mohamed Salah has been banned from driving in Britain for six months after being convicted in a case involving his Rolls-Royce. According to the British newspaper The Sun, a mobile surveillance camera captured Salah's Rolls-Royce Spectre electric car, worth around £400,000, speeding in Wilmslow, Cheshire, last March. The newspaper explained that Salah failed to inform the police of the identity of the driver at the time of the offense and did not respond to two court summonses sent to his home. The 34-year-old was convicted in absentia at Warrington Magistrates' Court of failing to identify the driver, while the speeding charge was dropped. The court sentenced Salah to a six-month driving ban, a £660 fine, £120 in court costs, and £264 in additional fees. Salah previously had a traffic violation in 2022 after being caught driving his Ferrari at 63 mph in a 50 mph zone. He received a £200 fine and three traffic points. He also faced another incident in 2018 after being filmed driving near Anfield, an incident linked to using his mobile phone, but police did not press charges due to insufficient evidence.
