Haaland surpasses Muller in the Champions League

Haaland scored both goals in the match, bringing his Champions League tally to 59 and surpassing former Bayern Munich star Thomas Müller to claim seventh place on the competition's all-time top scorers list. Cristiano Ronaldo leads the list with 140 goals, followed by Lionel Messi with 129, Robert Lewandowski with 109, Karim Benzema with 90, while Kylian Mbappé and Raúl González are tied with 71 each. Remarkably, Haaland has reached 59 goals in just 59 Champions League appearances, maintaining the best scoring rate in the tournament's history – a goal per game. The Manchester City striker also became the fastest player in Champions League history to reach 59 goals, far surpassing the competition's biggest stars. Messi needed 76 matches to reach that number, while Mbappé achieved it in 89, Ronaldo in 96, and Benzema in 108. Haaland continues his pursuit of the Champions League's all-time top scorers, now just 12 goals away from equaling the tallies of Raúl and Mbappé, who occupy fifth and sixth place respectively.
