Officially... Bruno is England's Player of the Year

Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes was crowned PFA Player of the Year for 2026 at the 53rd annual awards ceremony in Manchester . Fernandes beat out Arsenal trio Declan Rice, David Raya, and Gabriel Magalhães, as well as Manchester City duo Erling Haaland and Rayan Cherki, to claim the award . The 31-year-old enjoyed a remarkable season with Manchester United, providing 21 assists in the Premier League, setting a new competition record . Fernandes also played a key role in Manchester United's improved performances under manager Michael Carrick, helping the team finish third in the Premier League . This is Fernandes' third PFA award this season, having already won the Premier League Player of the Season award and the Football Writers' Association Footballer of the Year award . The Professional Footballers' Association award is given by a vote of professional footballers, confirming Bruno's status as one of the most prominent stars of English football during the past season.
