Fabinho joins Mohamed Salah at Trabzonspor

Turkish club Trabzonspor officially announced the signing of Brazilian midfielder Fabinho Tavares, formerly of Al-Ittihad, to bolster their squad for the upcoming season on a free transfer . Fabinho arrived in Turkey to begin his new chapter with Trabzonspor, after the club posted a video of him during his journey to the city . The Brazilian player made sure to send a message to his new team's fans, saying, "There's a familiar face waiting for me in Trabzon," referring to his former Liverpool teammate, Mohamed Salah . Fabinho and Salah will be reunited after years of playing together at Liverpool, where they formed a crucial part of the team that won numerous titles, most notably the Premier League and the Champions League . Fabinho left Al-Ittihad after his contract expired, having made 111 appearances for the Saudi club, scoring 7 goals and providing 9 assists . Last season, the 32-year-old midfielder played 44 matches across all competitions, totaling 3,906 minutes, scoring 3 goals and assisting 4 . Fabinho also represented Brazil at the 2016 World Cup, playing three matches, bringing his total international appearances to 36. The Brazilian midfielder has extensive experience in European football, having previously played for Rio Ave, Real Madrid Castilla, Monaco, and Liverpool, before joining Al-Ittihad in the Saudi Professional League.
