Milan snatch Moreira in a historic deal
AC Milan have officially announced the signing of Belgian winger Diego Moreira from French club Strasbourg during the current summer transfer window. The 22-year-old has signed a five-year contract with Milan, keeping him at the club until June 30, 2031, and will wear the number 22 jersey. The base fee for the transfer is approximately €50 million, with an additional €10 million in performance-related bonuses and add-ons. Strasbourg will also retain a percentage of any future transfer fee. According to French media reports, Moreira's move to Milan is Strasbourg's most expensive sale ever, having been signed from Chelsea two years ago for a fee between €8 and €9 million. During his time at Strasbourg, Moreira made 76 appearances across all competitions, scoring seven goals and providing 16 assists, attracting interest from several European clubs before Milan secured his signature. Milan are counting on the Belgian winger's abilities to bolster their attack, especially as the club aims to build a team that blends youth and experience to compete strongly for titles next season. Moreira joined Strasbourg from Chelsea and has since developed significantly during his time with the French club, increasing his market value and establishing himself as one of the team's key players. Milan hope he will continue his development with the Italian side and deliver the expected impact after his transfer, one of the biggest in Strasbourg's history.
