The Italian newspaper “La Gazzetta dello Sport” revealed that Inter Milan is accelerating its efforts to finalize the signing of English full-back Jed Spence, a Tottenham player, after negotiations between the two clubs made significant progress towards reaching a final agreement. According to the report, Inter and Tottenham reached an agreement regarding Spence's transfer to the Italian team, in a deal estimated to be worth around 30 million euros, in addition to further incentives. The official procedures for the deal are expected to be completed in the coming period, and the Spurs player, barring any surprises, will become one of Inter's most prominent reinforcements in preparation for the new season, as he will fill the void left by the departure of Denzel Dumfries. Inter's management hopes to complete the deal before the start of the league competitions, but the player may not be ready to participate immediately, especially since he recently returned to training after taking a break following his participation with the England national team in the World Cup, just like his teammate John Stones. Despite Inter entering into negotiations with other options, the Italian club has not given up on the idea of ​​signing Spence, as the club's management was waiting for two essential conditions to be met to complete the deal. The first condition was Tottenham's agreement to reduce their financial demands, after the English club initially set the value of the deal at around 40 million euros, while the second condition was related to coach De Zerbi's stance on the player's departure.
