Real Madrid gives Vinicius one last chance to decide his future

Real Madrid is awaiting the return of Brazilian star Vinicius Junior from his vacation, ahead of a crucial meeting with Portuguese coach Jose Mourinho and the club's management. This meeting could determine the player's future with the team after months of speculation surrounding his contract renewal. Vinicius is expected to arrive in the Spanish capital, Madrid, on Sunday and participate in his first training session under Mourinho the following day, before meeting with club officials to discuss extending his contract, which has less than a year remaining. According to the Spanish newspaper AS, Real Madrid's management remains confident of the player's desire to stay with the team, based on messages the club has received recently, but they are waiting for a clear and explicit stance from Vinicius during the upcoming meeting. The report added that the club's management does not intend to improve its current financial offer to meet the player's demands, making the upcoming session decisive in determining the fate of the negotiations. Real Madrid officials want to hear Vinicius's position directly, without his agents, to ascertain whether he truly wants to stay or if it is time to explore other options. Should the player refuse to renew his contract, Real Madrid will be prepared to consider potential offers and make a decision before he enters the final year of his contract, to avoid losing him for free. Financial considerations remain the main obstacle in negotiations, despite both parties' desire to reach an agreement. Vinicius is also aware that Real Madrid has made similar decisions with several of its legendary players, such as Cristiano Ronaldo, Sergio Ramos, Mesut Özil, and Ángel Di María, when contract negotiations proved impossible.
