The Saudi League tops the Arab rankings

The Saudi Professional League has further cemented its position as the strongest football league in the Arab region, maintaining its top spot in the latest Power Rankings issued by Opta, a global company specializing in football statistics and data analysis. This confirms the significant development the league has witnessed in recent years, both technically and competitively. Opta's rankings are based on advanced analytical models that consider team results, competitive levels, and club performances across various domestic and continental tournaments. This provides an accurate assessment of the strength of leagues worldwide, moving beyond mere impressions or market value. The Saudi league leads the Arab rankings, ahead of the Egyptian Premier League, followed by the UAE Pro League and the Qatari Pro League. The Iraqi Pro League came in fifth place in the Arab world, clearly reflecting the high level the Saudi league has reached, establishing itself as a prominent football destination both regionally and internationally. The Saudi League has witnessed a significant leap forward in recent years, attracting elite international players and coaches, developing its infrastructure and professional system, and increasing the level of competition among clubs. This has contributed to raising the technical value of the competition and increasing its global viewership. The results achieved by Saudi clubs in continental championships have also played a crucial role in enhancing the league's standing, as domestic competition has become more intense with a large number of teams capable of challenging for the title. Furthermore, continued investment in developing academies and youth sectors ensures the sustainability of the competition's technical growth. The ranking reflects the prominent position the Saudi League has attained in global football, especially given the plans to transform it into one of the leading leagues internationally by raising the quality of competition, attracting more technical and administrative talent, and providing a comprehensive professional environment that contributes to the development of the game. Globally, the English Premier League maintained its position at the top of the Opta rankings as the strongest football league in the world, ahead of the Spanish La Liga in second place, followed by the German Bundesliga and the Italian Serie A, while the French Ligue 1 came in fifth. The Saudi League’s continued top ranking in the Arab world confirms that the football project underway in the Kingdom continues to achieve its goals, with clubs looking forward to delivering a new, more competitive season that will enhance the tournament’s standing among the strongest leagues on the Asian and global stages.
