The Premier League announces plans to show support to Ukraine, takes further decisions

The English Premier League has announced full solidarity with the Ukrainian people against the Russian invasion, amid the war between the two countries since last Thursday.
The Premier League has announced a show of support for the people of Ukraine at all matches this weekend. The Premier League's official website issued a statement condemning Russia's war on Ukraine, saying: "The Premier League and our clubs wholeheartedly reject Russia's actions and will show their support for the people of Ukraine in all matches this weekend."
“The Premier League and our clubs wholeheartedly reject Russia’s actions and will be showing support for the people of Ukraine at all matches this weekend,” the league announced in a statement.
“We call for peace and our thoughts are with all those who have been impacted. A show of solidarity for Ukraine will be visible at all Premier League matches from Saturday 5 to Monday 7 March. This follows the numerous ways in which clubs have already demonstrated their support.
The league also said that its logo will reflect the colors of the Ukrainian flag for the upcoming weekend. ” The Statement continued: "The large screens in the stadiums will display 'football platforms together' against the blue and yellow background of the Ukrainian flag. These words will also appear on LED perimeter panels during matches." It concluded: "This message of solidarity will also be visible to fans around the world via the digital channels of the Premier League, and the logos and profiles on those platforms will change to represent the colors of the Ukrainian flag."
Captains of all clubs will wear special armbands in Ukrainian colours with fans encouraged to join players, managers, match officials and club staff in a moment of reflection and solidarity before kick-off.
The large screens at grounds will display 'Football Stands Together' against a blue and yellow backdrop, matching the colours of the Ukrainian flag.
