Leonardo comments on the possibility of renewing Mbappe's contract with PSG

In an interview with the French newspaper, “L’Equipe”, Paris Saint-Germain sporting Director Leonardo has revealed that until Kylian Mbappe signs for another club they’re going to everything within their power to renew his contract at the Parc des Princes. His current deal expires at the end of this season, stressing that they are not thinking about looking for a new coach..
“How much of a chance do we have to extend Mbappe’s contract? I can’t say precisely, but we have a chance,” Leonardo said in comments carried by Fabrizio Romano. “As long as there isn’t a signature [with another club] we’re going to try everything. We’re going to do everything we can to keep Kylian Mbappe.”
Real Madrid is thought to the only destination that could tempt Mbappe away from his home city of Paris. Los Blancos have been obsessed with signing him ever since they missed out on him to PSG in 2017 and had two big-money offers turned down for him last summer toward the tail end of the transfer window.
Florentino Perez believe he’s the man to lead Madrid into a new era and intends, like Leonardo and PSG, to do everything within his power to secure his signature. Mbappe’s ability was on full display during Madrid’s Champions League last 16 first leg last month with PSG at the Parc des Princes, when he scored the decisive goal in the dying minutes. The second leg of that tie is next week and will take place at a sold-out Santiago Bernabeu.
On Sergio Ramos' future with the team, he said: "When we signed him, he was physically good, unfortunately what we wanted did not happen, but the season did not end, the day we said that he was no longer able to play, it will be clear to everyone. This is not the case.”
