Russia - Ukraine war: Chelsea Board of Trustees drags Abramovich to handover the Club

English press reports have said that the Chelsea Foundation's board of trustees is still considering taking control of the Blues for the foreseeable future. On Saturday, Russian owner Roman Abramovich released a statement saying he has given up the supervision of Chelsea F.C., a club he has owned for 20 years, as a result of Russia's military invasion of Ukraine.
The move appears to have been taken due to the threat of Abramovich's assets being frozen or seized by the government, as the Blues allegedly deny they will be up for sale.
However, according to BBC Sport, the trustees of the Chelsea Foundation have yet to agree to Abramovich's proposal.
Reports claim that there are concerns about their ability to run the club, while it is expected that there will be a delay until lawyers decide whether it is realistic for the trustees to step in to take control of the club at short notice.
Abramovich's move came less than 24 hours before Sunday's League Cup final with Liverpool, the match that West London lost on penalties.
