Mbappe matches Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s PSG records
PSG striker Kylian Mbappe broke another one of Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s records obtained at PSG, after scoring two goals against Saint-Etienne, during their encounter on Saturday, at the Parc des Princes, in the 26th round of the French League for the current season 2021- 2022. Mbappe scored the first and second goals for PSG against Saint-Etienne in the 42nd and 47th minutes of the match. The Paris Saint-Germain striker Mbappé reached the 156 goal mark in the Rouge et Bleu shirt this Saturday night. But for Mbappé it’s not just about breaking records, he has also reinvented the art of chasing them, to be equal with Swedish star Ibrahimovic, the current AC Milan striker, as the club's second historical scorer.
Uruguayan star Edinson Cavani, the current Manchester United striker, is the PSG’s all-time top scorer with 200 goals. Mbappe is the top scorer in the French Ligue 1 this season, with 15 goals. Paris Saint-Germain leads the French league standings with 62 points, 16 points ahead of its closest rival, Nice, the runner-up with 46 points, while Saint-Etienne's balance stopped at 22 points in 16th place.
