Neymar reclaims the number 10 jersey with Brazil
The Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) has announced the official squad numbers for the Brazilian national team ahead of the 2026 World Cup, which will be held in the United States, Canada, and Mexico. The list sees the return of star player Neymar Jr. to the number 10 jersey, a number synonymous with his career with the Seleção over the years. His teammate Vinicius Junior relinquished the number 10, and will wear number 7 during the tournament, the same number he wears for Real Madrid. Midfielder Casemiro will wear number 5, while young striker Andriy is set to make his World Cup debut wearing number 19. Barcelona's Rafinha will continue to wear number 11. The Brazilian national team continues its preparations under the guidance of Italian coach Carlo Ancelotti, and will play two friendly matches against Panama and Egypt before the start of the tournament. All eyes are on Neymar’s physical condition, as the coaching staff seeks to fully prepare him after the muscle injury that sidelined him for a while, hoping that he will be able to play in the Brazilian national team’s opening match against Morocco in Group C, which also includes Haiti and Scotland.
