Al-Khelaifi: Paris continues to write European history

Nasser Al-Khelaifi, president of Paris Saint-Germain, expressed his immense pride in the team's achievement after qualifying for the Champions League final for the second consecutive season, having overcome Bayern Munich in the semi-finals. The Parisian side secured their place in the final after a 1-1 draw in the second leg in Munich, capitalizing on their thrilling victory in the first leg in Paris. They will now continue their campaign to defend the European title they won last season for the first time in their history. In post-match comments, Al-Khelaifi emphasized that reaching the final again is a significant accomplishment, reflecting the team's recent stability and development. He noted that the club now possesses a strong character and greater experience in handling high-stakes matches. The PSG president explained that facing Bayern Munich was no easy feat, especially against a team with a long history in the continental competition and a roster of some of the world's best players. However, he added that the PSG players displayed remarkable character and fighting spirit throughout the match, which ultimately gave them the advantage in the crucial moments. Al-Khelaifi pointed out that what distinguishes Paris Saint-Germain currently is teamwork, emphasizing that "the real star is the team," referring to the great harmony among the players and their shared desire to achieve more success for the club and its fans. The club president also singled out coach Luis Enrique for high praise, considering him one of the most important reasons for the team's success over the last two seasons, thanks to his ability to build a balanced squad with a strong competitive character, in addition to his excellent management of big matches. Al-Khelaifi also spoke about the Paris Saint-Germain fans, stressing that they played a crucial role in supporting the team during the match, both in attendance and through their unwavering support. He added that the fans were the loudest voices in Munich, which gave the players an extra morale boost. Paris Saint-Germain hopes to continue making history when they play the highly anticipated final against Arsenal on May 30 in Budapest, aiming to retain the European title and win the championship for the second consecutive time, an achievement that would solidify the club's position among the elite of European football.
