Manchester United are alloting €150 million to strengthen their midfield.

Manchester United are preparing for a major midfield overhaul this summer, with plans to invest up to £150 million in three new signings following their return to the Champions League, according to the Daily Mail. The club has reportedly earmarked around £80 million for a high-profile midfield acquisition as they prepare for the post-Casemiro era, with the midfielder expected to leave when his contract expires. Elliott Anderson is among United's top targets, although Manchester City are considered the favorites to secure his signature ahead of Nottingham Forest. Other prominent names on the shortlist include Brighton's Carlos Baleba, Crystal Palace's Adam Wharton, Newcastle United's Sandro Tonali, and Real Madrid's Aurélien Tchouaméni. In a related development, the club is also looking to sign an additional midfielder for around £40 million, considering options such as Matheus Fernandes from West Ham, Alex Scott from Bournemouth, and Tyler Adams. A third, lower-cost signing is also possible, with Southampton's Shey Charles remaining a target despite Kobe Mainz's recent contract extension. The club's transfer plans have been significantly boosted by securing Champions League qualification after their victory over Liverpool, which will generate additional revenue potentially exceeding £100 million.
